To use this tool, first, you have to select the right thickness feeler gauge that will fit into the gap and then place it between two surfaces and read the number on the feeler gauge scale. This measurement can then be used for setting up a machine tool or measuring equipment for machining parts. 

2. Circumference Measuring Tape:

Measuring tape is one of the versatile measuring instruments that are used for a variety of purposes in different scenarios. When it comes to measuring the diameter or circumference, the tape can be etched for its graduations and you can easily find out the results with minimum effort. The tape is also made up of steel and has the added advantage of providing its readings in mm, which makes it quite helpful while calculating dimensions.

These tapes are ideal for measuring the circumference of an object. They are typically 16 mm wide, with a scale of millimeters etched onto them in intervals of 10 mm.

3. Diameter Tape: 

Diameter tapes measure diameter and radius at the same time. These tapes are available in steel and plastic, with the latter being more flexible. It's important to note that these tapes cannot be used for measuring circumference as they do not have any markings on them.

4. Tubular Inside Micrometers:

When measuring the inside dimension of a hole or cylinder, you generally want to do so from its narrow point, which is called its "neck". The neck size is very important in the production of cylinders—if your cylinder does not have a wide enough neck, it can't properly grip the barrel's rifling.

A tubular inside micrometer offers you the most accuracy for these measurements by taking into account all of the different diameters that may be encountered when measuring the inside of something. A normal inside micrometer does not allow for this; it only allows for the measurement of one diameter, which can result in inaccurate reading if it is a non-standard diameter.

Tubular inside micrometers are also used when measuring parts to make sure they are within a certain tolerance. If they are out of tolerance, they must be reworked to add material or remove it as necessary. This tool is also used to measure outside diameters and is used on any surface that is cylindrical and parallel.

5. Micrometer:

The Micrometer is an instrument that is used to measure the distance between two points, both horizontally and vertically. It is also used to check if a certain hole is within a certain tolerance or standard. There are many types of micrometers, each with different uses. 

The outside micrometer measures the diameter of an object. It can also be used to measure the depth of a hole or recess. It features many ranges, which are usually in units of 1/64" (0.01"), 1/32" (0.025"), 1/16" (0.063"), and 32nds of an inch (1/64", 0.01"). Most outside micrometers also feature a ratchet mechanism that allows the user to force it against an object in order to get an accurate measurement without having to worry about the user's hand slipping and causing inaccuracies.
